Featured Testimonial: Our Clients Write In
"This past March I had an opportunity to schedule a last minute trip with Joe Vivenzio of River Run Troutfitters. The morning we hit the river the air temperature was cold to say the least. I asked Joe if we had any chance of catching a Steelhead on such a cold day. He turned to me, smiled and said, "even a bad day on the water is better than a good day at work". Thinking of what he said to me, I prepared myself for what I thought would be a long cold day. As it turned out, I went three for nineteen Steelies. I fought ten Steelhead before I landed a fish. I expected Joe to lose his patience, but he never did. Each time I lost a fish he would tell me about how back in the 70's when he first started fishing the river, he went zero for many more than that, and laughed!
At the end of what turned out to be a perfect day, I landed my best fish ever. A 15 lb. male Steelhead. At Joe's request, I kissed the Steelhead on the head and thanked him for the great fight he gave me, and then released him back into his domain.
Joe, I don't know how to ever tell you how much I appreciated the time you showed me on the Salmon River. Each day in the office is a little better when I think about that day."

Water Temp: 34ºF Flow: 1200 cfs
Still a month behind
The Salmon River is still a good month behind, with all the cold weather late into March. Stream temperature, a bone chilling 34 degrees. The Steelhead for the most part are eager to spawn. Not a lot of spawned out fish yet, in the way of drop backs.Look for some great fishing action when the River approaches the 42 degree water temperatures. God and mother nature willing, the water level does not go through roof. Easier said than done. Hope to see you all on the water.
